A Bit About Me...

Hello and welcome to my website, Live and Let Doula! My name is Sierra Staley and I am a postpartum doula located in St. Louis, Missouri. My love for everything baby goes back to when I was a kid! My mom had six girls and since I was the second born, I have a lot of memories of helping my mom with her babies; my siblings. As I grew up I found a love and a passion for food and would often cook various meals for my family or friends from church as my dad was a pastor in the St. Charles area. For years I basically lived in that building practicing for worship several days a week, (playing piano and singing) for both Saturday services and youth group, helping in the kitchen when preparing meals for church, and lastly (my favorite), working in the infant classroom during services, moms group, or during weekly counseling sessions with parents. I think that having that kind of childhood set the foundation for my deep love for babies and mamas. Since then I have: babysat/nannied for more families than I can count, volunteered in nurseries for 1000+ people events, ran childcare for homeschool groups and churches, attended multiple births, and of course have worked with many families postpartum including multiple sets of twins! I have a love for babies, yes, but my heart and passion is for mothers who are just trying to "make it" and just wish they had an extra hand and someone to talk to... The role and purpose of a postpartum doula is not only for the mother to "make it", but for her to THRIVE! Every couple should have the opportunity to cherish every sweet moment they have with their new baby in those first few weeks/months postpartum without having to worry about meals, dishes, running errands, feeding pets, laundry, needs of older children, sanitizing bottles/breastfeeding equipment etc. Your doulas job is also to be a listening ear, offer nonjudgmental support, be a friend, create a safe space for you to voice concerns to, connect you to trusted professionals when you need an expert, let you rest during the night so you can sleep, help you along your breastfeeding journey, and make sure you are physically, emotionally and spiritually fed and taken care of overall.

If this is something you or someone you know needs, please feel free to reach out so we can connect! I would love to hear from anyone in the St. Louis community who might be looking for support or even those who are not in St. Louis that may be looking for live in support! Whatever the situation may be, I am here for you and your little one while you navigate those hard, yet beautiful days postpartum.
